Introduction
As a student of Gimnazija Jesenice, I am writing this report for ITS. The purpose of the report is to present the traditional event on Gimjes called Dramski festival.
What is Dramski festival?
Dramski festival is a theatrical event that takes place every year in February. It is hosted in the Gledališče Toneta Čufarja in Jesenice. Each class is encouraged to make a play and perform in front of the whole school. Students also compete for many awards, ranging from the best actor, to the best drama paper. Every year, there is also a Teater prof. play, which involves only the teachers.
9th Dramski festival
This year was the 9th consecutive year of Dramski festival. It was split in two days. On the first day, there were 4 acts, mainly the students from lower grades, and on the second day, there were 2 performances plus the Teater prof. play. On both days the audience gathered up at 6:00 pm and headed into the theatre, where they were greeted by the 2 hosts. At the end of each day, the students who performed could meet a famous Slovenian director, who would have given tips on how to make a better play. The award ceremony took place at the end of the second day, where the award for the best play was given to Lubice Bubice (3.B).
Opinion
I think that Dramski festival is one of a kind. Each year the whole school is looking forward to seeing their friends and teacher perform on stage. Both, the performers and the spectators enjoy themselves immensely by taking part in the festival. Students feel a special connection with the teachers when they see them on stage. It bonds the school together and creates an atmosphere like no other. I love the Dramski festival and am performing in it every year.
